of this creative ways to promote our podcasts,
we want to make sure that we have a clear idea about
who our ideal listener is. This is going to make our promotional efforts
much more effective and will allow you to see results faster. It is also important to have
high quality audio production and to create and deliver
quality content consistently on our podcasts. We’re creating an experience
for our listeners, so excellent audio quality is a must. Number one,
(air whooshing) begin with your inner
circle, family, friends, and people in your community. Tell your people about
your brand new podcast. Invite those available to
you to support your show by listening, sharing,
subscribing, following, and leaving a review. When appropriate, reach
out to family members, friends, members of your community or the different social
groups you’re part of, and ask them to listen
and share your show with their friends or on their social media. Also, depending on the
content of your podcasts, look for groups and
associations in your area and let them know about your show and how it has the potential to contribute to their members’ goals. For example, if you have
a podcast about fishing, reach out to the local
fishing associations or clubs to see if you can present and promote your podcast to their members. Number two,
(air whooshing) make sure your podcast is on
all the podcast platforms. Is your podcast in all
the podcast players? As of today, there are
around 30 podcast players that will showcase your podcast for free. There are active listeners looking for podcast recommendations
in every single one of those podcast players, so don’t limit your podcast showcase
to only Apple podcasts, Google podcasts, or Spotify. Two of our favorite platforms
to promote our show, are Podchaser and YouTube. Yes, YouTube. You can create a YouTube channel and start uploading podcast episodes in the form of audio grams to
a playlist on your channel. And when you’re ready to grow on YouTube, you can start optimizing your channel and uploading videos of
your behind the scenes, interviews with guests or videos of you recording your podcast. Podchaser is the IMVD for podcast. It’s a podcast database that can help you with discoverability and promotion. So take some time to check Podchaser and claim the name of your podcast there. (air whooshing) Number three, invite guest and be a guest. If the format of your show allows it, inviting guests to your
podcast is an effective way to promote it, especially if
your guests have audiences that are within your niche. Make sure that you create
images, pictures, quotes, or audiograms to promote the interview and that you make this
accessible to your guests for them to easily share
in their social media. There are some good
practices you should consider when having guests on your show. Ask your guests for
permission before using any of their social media pictures
to promote the episode. Let your guests know in advance when the episode will be released. Send your guests on email
with links of the episode and promotional materials
the day of their release. (air whooshing) Number four, get featured. At the time I’m making this video, Podbean will feature your podcast for three days for free. In exchange, you only have
to promote the Podbean logo on your website. (air whooshing) Number five, social media engagement. We need to be smart
when using social media. Social media can be a time
sucker with no results besides making you feel bad about yourself after mindlessly scrolling and comparing yourself with other people, or you can use social media
to engage with your listeners, grow your community and grow your podcast. The first thing you need
to do is to pick one or two social media platforms depending on how much time you have. If you have active accounts
on those platforms, leverage your existing
followers to grow faster. They’ll be excited to knew
about your new project. Be consistent by showing
up and promoting every time you released on episode. Make sure that the
platforms you use to promote your podcast are the platforms that your ideal listener is hanging out at. For example, if your
podcast is about business and entrepreneurship or directed to professionals in any area, you may want to consider
look into LinkedIn, Twitter, or Facebook. On the other hand, if your
podcast is about fitness, beauty, or fashion,
chances are your audience is hanging out on Instagram or Pinterest. Social media requires hard
work, dedication, and time. We want to make sure

their content creators related to your niche and share
them with your audience on your social media and or podcast. These promotional methods
seems counterintuitive and you may be asking, why would
I share other people’s work on my social media? Well, content curation is
not only an effective way to promote your show,

of our favorite ways to promote our business and our podcast. Using email marketing allows
you to send emails directly to your listeners inbox. This is a great way to
create a close connection with your listeners, keeping them engaged and interested in your podcast. There are three steps to start

on different platforms. An email marketing service for provide you with different automation features, ways to structure your email campaigns, email templates and scheduling options among other features. Some of the email services including free plans are
