People come in different shapes and sizes and have different needs and wants. How do you create products that essentially fit that need? Helix Sleep is an e-commerce mattress brand headquartered here in New York City. The core of our business is creating personalized comfort for the customer. For the first year of our history we focused on just one product which was the mattress. We were getting a lot of feedback from consumers about other products that they were interested in and the number one requested product from our customers was a pillow. We didn’t know exactly how to execute and design that specific product. Through SurveyMonkey Audience we were able to validate whether people would buy pillows with their mattresses. The answer was a loud yes! The second thing we were able to validate with SurveyMonkey Audience was what are the feature sets that people want out of a pillow? Thin, thick, medium, cooling all those different needs and wants and those features we were able to incorporate into our first pillow launch. SurveyMonkey Audience allows you to reach customers you didn’t know you had. I’ve been able to hone in and target specific markets. It was super helpful to know what demographics I was targeting from age to income to where they were in the states and I felt confident that I was giving my company the right responses and answers. We want to execute and move things very quickly. Through SurveyMonkey Audience we were able to cut the product development cycle in half. It’s been super fast and reliable. There was one time I targeted a survey right before leaving the office. I was actually on the subway home and received a notification on my phone that my results were already in and the survey was completed. SurveyMonkey Audience essentially allowed us to launch the best product that we could. And in fact, we sold out in the first month of our launch.
